Peter Pink TrophyWhat do you call a collection of 55 swimmers? A ‘Peter Pink of swimmers’ of course! For the first time certainly in recent history we had 2 teams representing our Club, Team Dom and Team Dan, who between them clocked up 31 PBs, 5 new times, 3 new county qualifying times (CT) and 8 speeding tickets!

Radford Sprint1 3Nov2013

After scraping ourselves out of bed to reach Beechdale for the 8am warm-up, the announcement of its delay was not what we wanted to hear. Still, our `free’ programme detailed the many Portland swims to come – 50m in all strokes and 100m IM. Exciting stuff. It also listed the rules. Well …

Dan win sign Dobb

Club Championships

Saturday 12th October 2013

“Take your marks…” and so they did.  Nearly 2 hours later and look what had happened: 163 new times set, 58 PBs, 19 county times and 32 club records (12 set against new events and 20 faster than existing club records!  What great results at the end of a great event.  A huge well done to all swimmers, especially to those in their first gala.  We know it can be a bit daunting but you rose to the challenge like true champions, gave it your best and did it with a whole heap of enthusiasm.  Thank you swimmers, thank you supporters, thank you helpers and thank you organisers  - what a team!

Roll on party time - Friday 22 November!

For those new to the format the times are compared to times from the most recent previous mini gala and an overall percentage improvement across all strokes worked out.

Lammas LC

Another Saturday night, another venue, another time…but the same awesome Portland! Yet again PB after PB, outstanding swims, real grit and determination and, this time more than ever, those very special Portland ingredients of team spirit and sportsmanship. This was a challenging evening but our ‘brilliant bunch’ (quote D. Misiuda), as always, stepped up to the mark.

What a night! 20 PBs (yes, you did read that correctly), 4 x 1st and 4 x 2nd places and 4 swimmers doing themselves extra proud swimming up age groups. Once again our team spirit was immense, both poolside and in the spectator gallery – you know who you are …
