Our turn to host and a big well done and thank you to Andy Mulligan for a very smoothly-run event. This was a gala notable for some very big efforts, impressive PBs and first time appearances, including Sue Mulligan on door and Sue Pawluk as starter!
Special mentions:
- Ethan Pywell, Matilda Larkin and Alice Mulligan for first-time swims for Portland.
- Madeleine Mackay for stepping up to the mark with a brave effort in the 100m fly.
- Jack Harmer for a master class in the 100m backstroke.
- Matt Price for a rare but impressive 100m breaststroke.
- An overall 5th place (by only 3 points) does not tell the story of how far our swimmers have come but the PBs do.
Well done swimmers. It’s all hands on deck when hosting so thanks to everyone who helped, both from Portland and from other clubs.
