Ponds ForgeJack Harmer, who started swimming with Portland at the age of 9 and is now a Nova Centurion B1 Squad swimmer, competed at this year’s National Championships – the ASA’s annual competition aimed at the country’s elite swimmers.

Jack did more than just reach the Nationals – an amazing feat in itself – he had some fantastic 14 years Age Group swims in the 50m pool at Pond’s Forge, Sheffield.

  • He came 15th in 100m backstroke.
  • He got a 2 second PB in the 200m backstroke to qualify 5th fastest for the Final, in which he finished 9th.
  • He swam a PB in the last leg of the 100m freestyle relay Final to pull the Nova team from 4th to 3rd place for a bronze medal.

Absolutely fantastic! A remarkable achievement – congratulations Jack!
