The Club still has some Lottery money remaining to fund the training of new coaches. The only pre-requisite to do the ASA Level 1 training is that you are 16 years old at the start of the course. So, if you are interested in coaching, aged 16 or over or your 16th birthday falls within the next few months, read on …..
You will all have seen our great team of volunteers helping poolside over the last few months. Our most recently qualified coaches, Ginny and Guy, finished their ASA training in January and Rebecca at the end of March. Their Level 1 courses were paid for by National Lottery funding from Sport England and we still have funds available to train up new coaches.
Our small Club relies on volunteers to help our children develop and reach their potential. The coaches find it really rewarding working with our enthusiastic young athletes. You do not need to have been a competitive swimmer yourself to learn how to coach them. We are looking for people who are interested in coaching and would be able to give a little time on a regular basis.
If you feel that coaching may be something you would like to do, you can ask Ginny, Guy or Rebecca any questions you may have about their training or speak to any of our coaches about coaching in general – before a training session please, as they’re a little busy during!
If you would like to take up the opportunity of becoming more involved and give something back to the Club in a coaching role, then please email [email protected].
