Saturday 21st June was a beautiful day in more ways than one.

We waited outside whilst the pool staff got everything ready for our eagerly awaited Summer Gala …

JUST BEFORE THE GALA …

Time for the group photo

AHEM … swimmers …

Look Swimmers

Then it was time to go in.

Fabulous racing, followed by fabulous fun. That’s all there is to say really about this year’s Summer Gala and Medal Presentation, as the facts and photos speak for themselves …

New Record Holders

Molly Campbell knocked 6 seconds off the previous 100m backstroke record and 14 seconds off a 5 year old 200m freestyle record in Senior age group.
Rebecca Horne took 4 seconds off the 15 & unders 100m backstroke record.
Beatrice Munro is now the 11 & unders 100m IM record holder.
Emma Horne beat the previous Senior 100m breaststroke record by 10 seconds.
Esther Simmons broke the 15 & under 100m breaststroke by over 3 seconds.
Dahlia Brinklow now holds the 15 & under 200m freestyle record reducing it by over 8 seconds.

STRAIGHT AFTER THE GALA …

We headed off down the road to the fantastic Trent Youth Centre, where proud parents and happy swimmers tucked into picnics or, for those who had made a detour on the way, chips.

A great medal-giving followed the food and a great deal of fun followed the medal-giving.
