Here are some of the swimmers who took part in this year’s Summer Gala.
They competed for medals in events which were new to the Summer Gala, so many brand new records were set. All swimmers entered four events.
The number of events were doubled from two to four in the 11 and under age category with the addition of 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke.
The 13 and overs took on one more event, the 100m butterfly.
There was a great atmosphere and amazing camaraderie, living up to the Portland reputation of good-heartedness and friendliness.
Isla was extremely brave and swam incredibly well, having only just joined the Club.
Every single swimmer swam fantastic races and should be very proud.
