How to join

Minimum Requirements

As a competitive coaching club, we cannot cater for non-swimmers, so potential members should be able to swim technically sound strokes for at least 30 metres in backstroke, breaststroke (with a legal leg kick) and front crawl. They should also be able to do a technically sound butterfly leg kick for at least 30 metres.

Most swim courses, if all stages are completed, will teach the basics to this level. For example, following completion of Advanced 3 Level of Quackers Swim School lessons (instructed at the Portland Centre), swimmers should be ready or very nearly ready to join our Club training sessions. Our coaching team is skilled in taking swimmers from this point and helping them to reach their potential.
Becoming a Member

Becoming a member is straightforward:

Please start by completing an application form, with your contact details and we will reply and arrange with you to come along to a session, during which a coach will assess your abilities and you can get a flavour of what the club has to offer. There is no charge for the assessment visit; if you like what you see and we think you are capable, we will recommend which squad is suitable for you and let you have the relevant forms.

After completing the application form, if you have any other questions you can email the membership secretary, [email protected]

For information on the costs of membership, please see the Fees and Subs page.

Please note that trials and membership offers are subject to availability of space in the relevant squad and appropriate training lane.
