On the 15th October Portland held their 2016 swimming Club Championships at the Nottingham University Pool.
There was a great turn out on the night and it was fantastic to see some of the new club members in their first champs event.
There were some excellent performances with an amazing 44 new times, 134 pbs and Club records broken 11 times!
The event started with the butterfly with some super technique on show, followed by the backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle, ending with the individual medley.
All the children swam brilliantly and showed great spirit supporting each other with lots of clapping and cheering from the poolside.
Thanks to those who donated prizes for the raffle, not sure whether it was fixed(!) but the blue tickets holders seemed to be the lucky ones!
