This was an evening of mixed fortunes and invaluable experience. It was great to see some of the less regular and first-time gala swimmers pulling on the cap and ‘well done’ to those who earned speeding tickets!
Special mentions:
- Andrew Tsolakis and Freya McGarva for first time swim’s for Portland.
- Lucy Toplass for a fantastic 50m freestyle.
- Ben Hardy for a classy first place in the 50m freestyle.
- Elizabeth Tones for continuing her gala success from the summer champs with her 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.
- Matt Price for a fabulous (if a little fast!) 50m backstroke.
- We finished in 6th place overall which we would like to think was mainly down to all the minus points for the speeding tickets! It certainly left Grant with some useful development points.
Well done to all the swimmers who gave it their very best – you did yourselves proud.
