What is the Club Championship?
This is the biggest event in the Club calendar and one where historic club records are there for the taking.
Where and when does it take place?
The Championship takes place once a year at the 25m University pool on a Saturday evening in October.
Gala format
Swimmers compete in all four strokes (Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke & Butterfly) over 50m (10 & unders swim 25 Butterfly, but 50m for the other three strokes). In addition, all swimmers complete a 100m IM (i.e. 25m in each stroke).
Events are swum in the following age groups: ‘8 & under’, ‘10 & under’, ‘12 & under’, ‘14 & under’, ‘16 & under’ & ‘Open’.
Awards
Trophies are awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each age group at the Club Presentation evening which usually takes place late November or early December.
Entry requirements
Individuals wishing to enter the Club Championship need to return a completed entry form to the Gala Co-ordinator before the designated closing date. All swimmers are encouraged to participate.
